Associate or Senior Planner

The City of Umatilla is seeking either an Associate or Senior Planner (depending on qualifications). 

As a Senior Planner, incumbents will be responsible for managing specialized, complex projects and provide technical planning advice to the City. They will develop and prepare comprehensive reports, including statistical data and graphic materials, and prepare and deliver public presentations to legislative bodies and community groups. 

Requirements for a Senior Planner include a Bachelor's Degree in regional or urban planning or a related field and three years of progressively responsible professional planning experience, including one year of lead experience. Or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.AICP certification and GIS proficiency is preferred. 

As an Associate Planner, incumbents will be responsible for assisting in technical research and preparing reports and recommendations. They will also assist in the development and implementation of growth management, land use, economic development and other plans and codes to meet the City's needs. 

Requirements for an Associate Planner include a high school diploma or GED (with college coursework in urban planning, or architecture preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Proficiency in GIS preferred. 

Salary: 

Senior Planner: $87,132 - $102,420

Associate Planner: $75,108 - $91,872
